Signs of dissent
October 24th, 2006

I found these signs in the area near the University of Alberta where I used to live. Ahhh, I already miss the quirkily political signs and Steve-Dave’s stencils. The area has much more life to it than the neighbourhood on the north side where I live now—there’s more creativity in the air. You’ll find people walking around because there is actually something to walk to. (Other people—curse them—seem to agree that it is a nice place and as a result, there’s no way we can afford a house there.) You know, I’m pretty sure I can’t find a single half decent coffee shop within a forty-five minute walk from where I live.
I’m told there is a gang turf-war brewing just north of our new place, though I’ve seen no sign of it yet. Not the kind of intrigue I had in mind, but I guess I’ll have to take what I can get.
